Can anyone help me identify a peculiar noise coming from my car ?
Ok, I've noticed a pinging noise coming from the front end of my car. To get a better idea of how it sounds, put some screws in a glass jar and shake it around a bit. It seems to be coming from the drivers side front wheelwell. Whenever I close my door (while the car is shut off) it'll make that noise. I can also hear it if I'm slowly acclerating from a stop (the noise disappears once I'm up to speed). I'm thinking it has something to do with the suspension, not sure though. Nothing constructive came about in search, so any input from you guys would be greatly appreciated. TIA :-)

Might be the hanging metal piece to the belly pan that isn't connected and is loose. Or it's the
clip that the screws go into is loose. I know that the clips that the screws from the 2.8 engine cover, screw into, make a rattling noise if they aren't seated correctly. You may have some loose metal clips or other pieces in the engine compartment or under the car.
Have someone slamp your door as you poke your head around the car.

Ya, I just mentioned it because I had a small rattle that was being caused by the
clips that hold down my engine cover. It could only be heard when my windows were down and driving under 40mph. It took me a while to find it!
Good luck.
Good luck.
