i think you just need a socket wrench w/ extender and a spark plug socket, plus...
your run of the mill wrenches and what not.
I've been asking for like 2 weeks now if I need a torque wrench and nobody has answered me.

Torque wrench...yes. Plus answers to above ?
I just changed the plugs in my 2.8 to bosch platinum +4's about a month ago.
If you don't want to remove the air box, and I didn't, then you need a couple of 3" extentions to get to one of the plugs. Plus, you have to unscrew, and set aside, but not remove, the coolent reservour. Make sure you unclip the sensor on the bottom.
The only plug that gave me any problems was the top left one as you are standing at the front bumper looking towards the back of the car. It is under the hose coming from the air box.
What I did was put the 3" extension on the spark-plug socket. My extensions are spring-locking, so I didn't have to worry about loosing the socket inside. Just tape yours up it is a normal extension. Then, once the socket and 3" extesion is in, it will sit about an inch below the top. use another extention to take the plug out and put the new one back in. I used neddle nose pliers to get the socket and first extension out.
I used a 6" extension for all the other ones.
According to Bentley, all the plugs should be torqued to 19 pounds. Never saw your questions before, or I would have answereed it then.
