Can i replace my CV boots myself?
I don't really do much work on my car, but as Audi and even 3rd party German Mechanics prefer my first born kid for the laborm i just can't afford it anymore. (I really can't afford the car, either, but what am i supposed to do? buy a kia?) Is this labor something i could sort of do with a couple of my Maguvier (sp) friends?

It does require a certain level of know how to be able to get the joint out of the drive shaft without damaging it. (Basically hitting it with a rubber mallet correctly.) The same thing when you put the boot on and put it back together. My dad (the brains of the operation) and I replaced the CV boots on the old Jetta several year back, removed the drive shaft to do it, it wasn't that bad, but without him, I would have probably messed it up. You would probably also have to remove the drive shaft from the Audi to replace the boot, no idea how difficult this would be. Without a repair manual, don't bother, this is a certainty.

You didn't see the tech article, did you? :-)
It's really not that hard...I think my write-up is pretty clear. Give it a look and save yourself $100. Good luck

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/misc27.shtml</a
