Can you trust your tire specialist?
After i had brand new tyres installed on the car i noticed...well hear a strange clicking noise from the front wheel.
As most of you guys know my beast was stolena and recovered so i put the noise down to damage during theft.
$66 Aus later and the mechanic was stumped, the sharp clicking noise was present at low speed (crawling pace) then disappeared?
One of his fellow mechanics came around for a listen and started laughing.
One of the lazy buggers at the tire center pushed the valve inside the tire and installed a new one. Lazy!
Not going back there thats for sure.

Got one better...
my friend brought my wheeloff my old explorer into his schools auto shop to patch it. he comes by later that day to drop off the tire and was like "oh by the way, that wierd sound we were hearing from your wheel was...." then whips out a spark plug. Apparently the guy that put it on the firts time must have droped it in side before the put it on.

betterer
a friend works for an un-named car plant in the SF bay area. the dealers send service reports for warranty claims to improve quality, anyway, one of those letters went something like this...
"customer reports vibration from front right wheel... removed wheel, removed coke bottle from inside tire and remounted"
that had to be on purpose.
