prob a stupid question but how do i get the shift **** off my 98.5 with tiptronic

first push down the collar at the base of the shift ****. Then, put the shifter into 3rd gear, you have to turn the key to the 'on' position. The button you push in to shift that is on the ****, pull that out, it doesn't come out completely, so don't try to take it out. While holding the button out, pull the shift **** off and it'll come off.
