Default Car jerks when i press down on the accelerator (please help fast car is in a parking lot)

So here is my problem.
I drive a 98 a4 1.8t queatro .

I accelerated fast to pass a car so floored it from about 4 mph to 30. As soon as i relased the gas peddle the car started jerking and slowed down to about 4 mph. even if i put it in idle it would jerk as soon as i slightly stepped on the gas.

this morning i went to the car, tried turning it on and it was doing the same thing. This time tho as soon as i turn it on "idle" it starts jerking.
also the rpms seem to fluctuate between 500-900 rpm

any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like the ICM. It's the little "plug" on top of your airbox.

ahhh.. u got to be kidding me i changed it ... about 6 months ago.

but ty. i will defenetly test it if i can still find that link how to test if its gone bad

the only thing is .. last time the icm went bad the car shook... but.. not as great as this time. it almost feels like someone is hitting my car from the back

also i noticed if i press on the accelerator.. hold it about half way ( slowly get it up there) then gently release it . 1 out of 2 times the car will choke and it turns off

also. last time if the icm went bad the engine light went off.. this time nothing. no engine error =/

it has to be something with fuel dosent it ?

stupid question... but ... would fault codes still show up even if my engine light is not on .
like last time my icm went bad . engine light went off.. and i checked out the fault codes and itsaid my 2nd cyl was misfiring
