Default Car Manufacturer logos..

I was looking at car logos this am and realized how cool Audi's is. Most need to inscribe their name somewhere or have some variation of their name in their logo.

IMO the best ones are Audi, MB, and BMW.

However, BMW still has their name on the logo and I think that their kidney grill is almost too tightly tied to their logo/brand name. They almost cannot get away from that design now. And if they tweak it too much, people start complaining.

These were OK, but still lame:
Lexus = variation of an L
Acura = variation of an A
Honda = variation of an H

It is a bold move for Audi to just stick the rings out there (especially in the states where their logo may not be as easily associated with their name). Although they did have the side Audi logo years ago.

Great logo Audi!

Which other ones do you like?

Default good points....

gotta love that 'Y' that can only mean one thing....YUGO.

I never liked the Porsche logo; too busy, a la the old Cadillac thingy.

Toyota's logo is just plain stupid; looks like a preschooler scribbled it.

Chevy...any logo that can easily be made into a belt buckle is a no-no.

Ford...see "Chevy".

Ferrari's horse is a bit on the flashy side...but then, so is Ferrari. I haven't seen too many debadged Ferraris either.

Default Yup, Ferrari is cool. Who had the Triton symbol? Pinafarina? That was cool too.

Volvo is just too much, need about 2 feet of space for the full effect.
Most American ones suck. (In my humble opinion)

How about those that just throw their name up:

Only someone living in a cave wouldn't recognize and associate the four rings with Audi.

I disagree. While it is apparant to us, majority of 'non car aware' people wouldn't know it.

one side note....the Acura logo is not an 'A', it's a pair of measuring calipers.
