Car won't start after getting wet
The front passenger window in my 98 a4 wagon was left down during a torentual downpour. It was left down overnight and yes it rained all night. In the morning there was a lake in the passenger side of the car front and rear floors. there was water all the way over on the driver side.
I dried the car as best i could and let it sit for 3 weeks in the sun and did not try to turn it on until I new for sure it was completely dry. Various attempts at turning it on and no success it sounds like it wants to turn on but I can't get it to turn over. Panel lights up fine and all the lights inside work. The battery died from sitting so long. My attemps at trying to turn it on have been with jumper cables. Anyone have any clues for me?

hello everyone - I replaced the battery - the one I pulled out was completely dead. I kept crankin on the switch till it turned over(about 15 min). Was real shaky at first but after a half hour of being ON it ran smooth on idle. Drove it around my neighborhood and it was shakey and turned off a couple times when I came to a stop but started back up and seems to have stableizede after driving it for a while.
