Default Carbon Hoods...

Well, there seems to be quite a lot of interest in them these days. After seeing the DTM Autohaus vented and non-vented versions, and some guy selling one on Ebay (that I found out is a sham and does not exist except for an undeterminded backorder...)

I called on a couple of Carbon fabricators... Essentially, we can easily put together a GB of 10 or more units. Most likely resulting in a cost somewhere near $600 each. These units, would of course be smooth, no vents.

Just to guage interest... anybody want one?

Default me me me :)

You have the same expensive tastes as I do, Rich.

Weight is also a factor, along with fit and finish.

regards,
Liam

Default it's hard to say a custom shop can fabricate so few for 600 and be able to produce a unit that will

fit like the stock hoods is it not?

Default So what is the weight savings of a carbon hood, also, how chip resistant?

Might be worth it just to not have to worry about chipping the hood.

Cheers

Default The mold is made from a stock hood... vaccuum sealed...

So the dimensions are exact.

I'm just trying to get an idea of interest.

Hmmmmm... will this be a race style hood, or will it be reinforced?

No chip resistance if it's clear coated (like most CF hoods are)
