Carputer Install: Day 11 - BWW
So I bet you're wondering, how is this thing still not done after 11 days?! I am too, but I'm still learning.
So some of you may have read my 'desparation' post questioning whether I should leave some of the flaws on the 'finished' product. Thankfully, you all agreed that no I shouldn't. So I ripped it back out and went to town. Again.
I'm so glad I did because we have fixed endless errors. As it sits right now, drying, waiting for another sanding, I can sleep with a smile.
Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

MUCH better fit.

Filling in the holes.
The orange stuff you see is glazing putty. You can get it at Autozone for under $10. This stuff is like miracle goo. The tinyest pits, scratches, bubbles, lines, can be fixed and sanded like filling a hole in the wall with toothpaste.
<img src="http://www.iplaydirty.com/images/install/day12 013.jpg">
Tomorrow I'm going to sand the putty down and fill more as necessary. I've changed the final sandpaper from 800 grit to 400 for a TINY bit of texture. I've also decided that when it is absolutely perfect I'll probably have a shop paint it to match the trim.
Until tomorrow.
