cd changer installation problems for 00 1.8...
what is up with the mounting! i can only get 1 out of the 4 screws in! its holding up for now, but i'm worried that it might leade to unwanted skipping.
my hands aren't made of jello, so i don't know how everyone else is doing it. any suggestions? i really don't want to remove the entire casing and everything, but if it calls for it then i guess i have no choice.
will those screw drivers with the bendable cords work???
any feed back is appreciated.

Re: cd changer installation problems for 00 1.8...
Mounted mine on Saturday ('00 1.8T)...45 minutes.
Remove rear most plastic panel (8 screws). Remove carpeting from trunk floor.
Remove tool kit.
Pull back left side trunk lining (approximately 4 metal and plastic clips are attached to the panel, and they clip to various other screws and metal pieces in the trunk. Once you pull back the trunk lining you will have access to five screws that hold the CD changer bracket in place.
Remove the bracket, and screw the changer to the bracket (don't forget to set the mounting angle screws on the changer first).
Plug it in, and make sure it works.
Re-install everything.
This IS the easiest way to do this. Trying to do this without removing the trunk lining material *may* work, but it's not worth the time and effort that it would take (as you've noted, access is limited).

I agree. This sounds like a lot of work, but it's easy. Only thing I'd add to RKA's advice is...
to use needle nose pliers to remove the plastic fastener that's just inside the trunk near the tail light. Once that one's out, just start pulling and the others will come loose.
