Chasing the P1136 code
After 12 years, most likely you have either solved the problem and/or sold the car. For anyone who sees this in 2020 and has the problem I will say that my P1136 code was fixed by replacing the vacuum hose from the front of the intake manifold to the diverter valve. It had rotted and come off of the manifold. I did a bunch of things (MAF, O2 sensor, purge valve) before I noticed the missing hose. After 21 years of owning the car, I knew that those parts were original, so I felt replacing them wasn't a bad idea, even if they weren't the cause of the problem.
