Check Engine Light

I was driving my '96 2.8 last night and the MIL came on. I don't know what to do, oil level is fine, although it's due for a change soon. The only change in operation is that it idles 100-200 rpms higher than it used to. I searched the forum but couldn't find one like that. It doesn't stall in idle, and the idle isn't irratic. Any ideas on how to turn the light off, or does anyone have a ODB II reader in Northern VA? It's like $80 for a diagnosis at the dealership, and that's not something I want to pay.
