check engine light
I was wondering if someone could give me any ideas?
I have a 2001 aud a4 1.8T and about 3 weeks ago (about a week after i had my 60,000 mile servie done) the check engine light goes on. I call the dealer and they gave me an appointment 2 weeks from then. in the meanwhile the light goes off for a couple of days and then comes back on again and stays on for a week. I brought the car in to the dealer for my appointment and they tell me nothing is mecanically wrong they reset the codes and the light is off now. (they also charged me 95 dollars for labor!!) well, what do you know ... the next day the light is back ON again!! I really do NOT want to go back to the dealer... all they wrote on the reciept as far as what they had done was..
_performed fault memory cleared sporadic knock sensor fault and 02 code reset readiness
well now the light is back on and they say there is nothing mechanically wrong.. any ideas on what it could be before i go to a local mecanic??
