Default check engine light at 3000 miles?

i went to start the car last week. i was suprised to find that the car was idling really rough. i also noticed that the check engine light was on. not knowing what was wrong, i quickly (but carefuly) drove to the audi dealer.
their only solution was to flush the injectors and change the spark plugs. (it took the dealer 2 days to figure this out) i got the car back and everthing seems okay. i just want to know if anyone had a similar thing happen to them. thanks!

My 2.8 30V Avant had the same problem. Dealer here had the same solution. What engine do you have?

Default Similiar Experience

I took my A4 in for a routine 30,000 mile service. I noticed after I got it back that the check engine light was on. Manual said that if it stayed "on" to drive at reduced speeds and get it checked. Made an appointment and took it the next day at lunch. I was there two hours and they couldn't fix it. They ended up replacing some parts and they had it for three days. I had only had my car 5 days when i took it in. I bought it used. Car was fine before but since the service is covered I took it in.<p>Driver: Taz

Default I've had this occur twice.

In my case the cause seemed to be related to an almost empty gas tank and parking on an incline (rear down). The first time I drove straight to the dealer. The error codes indicated the equivalent of running out of gas. They reset the codes and I was back on the road. The second time was the morning I was heading there anyway for the 10K service and, once again, they reset the codes. No problem.

The service guy said that if the computer had sensed a few occasions with normal fuel availability, it would have reset itself. I'm not interested in needing to verify that, so, since I can't level my driveway, I'm not letting the fuel level get too low.
