Check engine light..

My check engine light came on in my 99.5 2.8. Is there any way to tell what the problem is before taking to the dealer.

Not really, but is the car running poorly? Is there any change in it's sound, feel,

etc.... The MIL is triggered by many things. As long as it is not blinking, and the car seems to be running fine, it can wait till the dealer sees it.

Do you have access to VAG-TOOL emulator?

What you might want to is A)buy one B)See if a local fellow AW-er might lend you a hand.. Other than that there is no way to tell
