Here's my pillar mounted VDO boost gauge that I put in this weekend. I went the extra step and painted the Autometer brand housing to match. The color looks slightly off in the picture but it looks pretty close in the "flesh". It would probably look better if the mouse fur on the "A" pillar was cleaner! I bought the paint at Pep Boys; it is a GM grey (GM-7200 I think).
Parts used:
* VDO Gauge
* Autometer housing
* VDO gauge tubing kit
* Grey paint
* wire and connectors for the light
* 2' vacuum line hose
* Vacuum "T" fitting & wire ties
Overall everything cost about $75 bucks with shipping. I purchased the VDO and Autometer parts from Summit Racing. Their service was extremely fast.
Now that I can see the paltry 5 psi of boost that I get it onlt whets my apetite that much more for a chip.
