Dunno. I don't think anyone here ever really discussed it.

Nobody here would ever chip their cars, it's bad for the engine!

Default Didn't Audi say that inserting chips into the ECUs could throw off the balance

and be very bad, because the chips are not specifically tuned the way Audi intended them to be?

Default Here we go again......

don't mind our smart *** responses.....but this questions comes up every other day and sometimes leads to heated debates only rivaled by the debate of which is more stupid; Bush or the eraser on a pencil.

The big companies are: APR, Garrett, Neuspeed, MTM, Abt, TAP, and AMS.

I have had a lot of experience with APR and Neuspeed chips....both are great chips that are reliable. Neupseed has been chipping cars for 20+ years, APR has great customer service and a complete staff of engineers, Garrett is a guy who is in Med School, MTM is great but it is imported through Hoppen who does not have a great customer service record, TAP is OK but most are shying away due to customer service issues (from what I've read), Apt I don't know about, and AMS I don't know about.
