So is it glued or riveted? What about replacing with the 1.8 black trim or S4 charcoal trim?

Therefore it's not an easy or cheap fix to try to replace?

Default not chrome. clear anodized aluminum just like the 2.8 roof rails, S4 Mirrors, etc.
metal polish, etc. will not work unless you go past the anodized layer and that I don't recommend. Think of it as a lifetime finish...

Default anybody ever try this, seems to work pretty well
cleans it up and gives it a shine.

I've been using it on my exhaust tips, and it works well. I also use super fine steel wool. Not sure if that would be good for the trim. would have to mask car for sure.
