Climate Control Blower. Past/Present problems...Read!!
Hey all, A little assistance would be appreciated.
My climate control blower (A/C, heater blower) quit working. The bars on the display go up and down frantically but the blower never comes on. It happened once before, but corrected itself. I took it to the dealer and he says it needs a new motor at the tune of $650. I have searched the archives and found that several people have had this same problem. anyone else out there have this trouble? Is there a TSB on this problem? Needless to say I picked the car up and will replace the blower myself. I found a blower for $50 and will buy the Bentley manual, so I should be out for around $150.00 hopefully.
THanks
Rob

I had the same problem happen to me 2 weeks ago. I called the
dealership hoping for an appointment the next day but the
earliest they could see me was July 25. I was planning to call
the next closest dealership (~110 miles away) but got a call
the next day moving my appt to the 17th. I figured that would
only be a few days later than when I would be able to work
into my schedule a visit to an out of town dealer so I decided
to wait until then. Tomorrow I'll post what they ended up doing
to fix the problem. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come....my
car is a '99 and the warranty runs out this November.
