Default CLUTCH, CLUTCH, CLUTCH!.. what's that funny smell hahaha

So... it's looking like I'll be needing a new clutch. The one that's in there now is OEM, and I'm looking to put in a racing clutch, I'm thinking stage 2.
I have a 2001, a4 2.8L quattro... just curious what you all know about the various makes of clutches, what you'd recomned and why?

Thanks
Jeremy

Default depending how much hp your 2.8 is cranking out, you might consider a stage 3 clutch over a stage 2

i've heard bad reviews of the stage 2 setup not doing it's job, if i get turbo upgrades on my car i will definitely be going to a stg3 and skipping the stage 2 disk. plus i like the puck to puck hookup it gives the best grabbing torque.

Default go look at PES's stage 3 clutch setup. others do it too.

instead of having a clutch disc and the other piece the clutch is puck on both sides, like a hockey piece it's super rubbery and sticks harder than anything else.

Default I sell the WOA clutch kits and run one of the puck setups in my car.

If you mean Organic when you say Rubber, none of the clutch companies use that on a puck setup. A stock disk is Organic while most puck setups use some type of Kevlar, Ceramic or Fiber-tuff. They use a puck setup because it can flex more then a full disk. Problem is that it does not slip when the pressure is applied, which means more of the disk is used every time and more stress is put on the flywheel, pressure plate and the rest of the driveline. Here is a picture of one of our older puck setups. The new ones are painted a different color. The reason I asked is because there is no puck to puck surface area, just a solid to puck to solid contact area.
