CODE 49..... WHAT ARE YOU?
Does any one know what sensor controls code 49 on your Climate Control Diagnostic (model year 99.5)? Mine seems to follow code 51 for the engine coolant temperature.
The only differnece between the two is their ranges. Code 51 will drop down to the ambient air temp and tops out at 90 deg C. Code 49 however never drops below 30 deg C, and tops out at 83 deg C.
I am wondering if this is the mysterious second coolant temp sensor that the ecu uses to calc air/fuel ratio.
All of the lists in the tech section do NOT completely match the codes on my climate control.
My car has never started well in sub zero temps, and I am having an engine studdering problem in cold weather.
