Coding the control module problems ...
Hi,
I finally found somebody in the Bay Area willing to help me out reprogramming my keys but we couldn't access the central locking module ... connecting to the engine and transmission worked fine but not to the central locking module. We tried a bunch of stuff and nothing worked. I have an early 99 2.8 quattro.

odd. i used the vag-com method to change my 98.5 and my 01.
maybe it was his vag-com setup or the computer it was on? (though i've never really heard of that being an issue).
i'm in SF if you want to give it another try.
