Default Coilover Suggestions...

Ok, I want to purchase a set of coilovers, but I am having a difficult time choosing which ones to buy. So I need some suggestions. The budget for these will be around $1,000 (give or take a couple hundred). The more adjustability the better, and I would like to be able to set them as low as possible. I'd like a firm ride, but not jarring. I was looking at the H&R Ultra-Lows but I don't know anyone that has them.

So, what would you guys recommend and why? Please post pics if at all possible.

Thanks.

Default Koni Coilovers

They're adjustable height, adjustable damping, can be set pretty low, and ride very well.
Plus they're under your $1000 price tag.

Default My favorite...H&R A4 street coilovers

Firm but not bone jarring (I think the ultras might be a little over the top for you...streets should be fine). They are not rebound adjustable, but the kit was very well designed...you won't want to adjust the dampening.

Default Mike...I called a few times today about

teh Greddy FMIC's...I'm tired of waiting for the gb to happen and your price is about the same anyway. Besides, I'd rather give you the business. Do you have them in stock or are they dropped shipped from Greddy? Have you see a unit yet? I am curious about what has to be done for install like if the smog pump needs to be moved. Does the kit include all hoses needed? Any cutting required? Thanks.

Default Greddy

Hey Ray..
I haven't personally seen the kit. I do not drop ship, I personally handle and ship everything. I don't have them in stock at the moment, but could have one in a matter of a couple days from GReddy.

My understanding is that the stock IC pipes don't require trimming, however part of the radiator support does to make clearance for the pipes.
The FMIC fits behind the stock A4 bumper fine otherwise. All pipes are included, however I don't know about the smog pump. My immediate guess is that it'll be in the way, however I don't know for sure.

I'm trying to convince Paul_858 to get one, so we can do the install here, and get a better idea..
Help me convince him.

Default couple of questions...

I did a quick search on the forums regarding these and have found that they may be slightly soft. Does the kit for the 2.8q fit on the 1.8tq? Will it be any firmer? Would you recommend it?

Default For the Quattro there is only one now..

They dropped the 4-cyl, and now only the 6-cyl version is available.

I believe they're doing the same with the FWD.

Stasis sells the same A4 6-cyl kit as their "Street Sport" kit for the S4. It's more comfortable than it is soft. It's a street setting, not really a race type suspension.
