Cold Air Intake?

Cold Air Intake?
I am living in Portland Oregon and it is a very wet climate. I was wondering if it is not recomended to have a cold ait intake in very wet climates? I have read a few things saying not to install that due to water getting into the intake but I would like a second opinion. Any suggestions of some sort of insulation would be appreciated?

Well...
If you remove the airbox and do a very well insulated custom heat shield and provide some duct work to the filter, the orignal intake scoop plus a vent from below, you would have a decent CAI. You would have to do a custom job on this and you MUST make a VERY GOOD heat shield.

Im also in portland. I dont think that rain will make a big differnce. However, i heard that Cold Air intakes dont make a big difference on A4's. Other than the fact that you get a bigger Diverter valve sound.
