Cold start problem

Cold start problem
I have a 1999 1.8t that has a cold start problem. When I haven't driven the car and try to start it, usually in the morning, it starts then dies right away. Then I try to restart it and it takes forever to crank. I hold the key to turn for 3-4 minutes before it starts. Then it idles really rough. But after it idles for a few minutes, it runs and starts fine.
I looked at previous posts and there were no real answers.
I've already replaced coil packs, ignition amp, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator, injector, coolant temp sensor and tried a different ECU.
I use 94 octane. The check engine lights comes on after I have the cold start problem and gives me random misfire codes...but on a hot start the car starts right up.
Thanks
