Default Combi Valve Replacement Procedure

Sorry if this is already out there somewhere. I've been reading the posts on combi valve failures.

My car has the classic symptoms. Can anyone out there share their experience as to what the correct procedure for replacing the combi valve is?

Thanks

Default haha, I like the "do not do" steps. It's actually good to know that just in case, and just have

parts and tools ready
