Default Coolant leak on 1.8T rear coolant line connection!! Need help asap

On my 97' A4 1.8TQ I replaced the gasket on the intake manifold this evening and I thought everything was fine.

Well you know the connection for the coolant line that goes over top of the intake manifold and connects to a fitting on the back side of the engine? It has some sort of slip joint with two bolts holding together the slip joint.

For some reason now when I put it back together it is leaking from that joint and it won't hold coolant. Was there suppose to be some kind of rubber o-ring maybe that fell off?

Any one know what I'm talking about?

Thanks,
Chris

Default You mean the ECT sensor housing on the back of the head?

If so, yes, there's an O-ring in there that seals it against the head. It costs like a buck or two at the stealer and takes 5 minutes to change.

Cheers,

It looks like a housing with a sensor, but the connection point is not on the head. It is where the upper coolant pipe fits into the housing. It is a male/female slip fitting and has a little bit of slop in it so i think it needs an o-ring, which some how must of disappeared when i had the intake manifold off.
