Coolant leak on rear 97Q2.8 block

Coolant leak on rear 97Q2.8 block
Has anyone replaced an o-ring on a "flange housing" at the rear of the engine block. I've been told this is a common area for coolant leaks in A4s, but it looks almost impossible to get to.
If anyone has done this, please let me know the way to access it (from above or underneath).
