Default correct me if im wrong but.....

there is NO performance gain if i just use a k04 turbo with everything else stock. as in stock injectors, fuel pressure regulator, manifold, sparkplugs, etc.

Default nothing worth while

if you don't have the programming to take advantage of the k04 there is no point in wasting your time and money installing it, unless you plan to upgrade the rest in the future.

Default

You'd need the higher flow of bigger injectors or a higher bar FPR.

Default ok another question then

wasnt there a website that sold turbos alone??? i forgot the adress. but i THINK they were selling a k04 for about $800, then id need a boost gauge $50 and spark plugs $25. i dont know how much a 5 bar FPR and a fan switch cost but is all that really worth the $2000 from neuspeed??? does a 5 bar FPR and 180 degree fan switch cost about $1100???? am i missing something??

note: im comparing the list i made to the list neuspeed has

Default You're missing the software from your list. The other thing you give up if you try to piece together

a 'kit' is the support of the tuner for problem resolution and the fact that they've pretty much sorted everything out. You'll be on your own for the couple of hundred you'd 'save'.
That said, a few folks have pieced together a 'kit' IIRC.

Default The software you choose will dictate whether injectors or a FPR are needed IIRC. The software is

tuned expecting either larger injectors running at the Audi system pressure or expecting the OEM injectors running on a higher bar FPR. You're choice of 'software' would necessarily dictate whether you'd require injectors or FPR.
My point was .. ~800 for the K04, 3-500 for software, add in injectors or FPR and you're damn close to the prices of the kits @1700-1800$
