cup holder stuck - how do i pull it out without damaging it

i didn't spill anything at least i don't remember - but my cup holder doesn't want to come out anymore

Hmm...spray some WD-40 up in there and keep pushing it? Worth a shot...

spring may have broken. use a screw driver to try to gently pry it out. if it doesnt come out, push

in and try again.

I went through this about 6 months ago(plastic inside broke). Used a snap-on pick set to carefully pull the trim panel(see pic) surrounding the cupholder. Here's the part number for the holder that I installed on our 00 30v, looks like the same one you have there.
