cup holder stuck - how do i pull it out without damaging it

I went through this about 6 months ago(plastic inside broke). Used a snap-on pick set to carefully pull the trim panel(see pic) surrounding the cupholder. Here's the part number for the holder that I installed on our 00 30v, looks like the same one you have there.
