CV joint or what?
My car is VERY loud right now. It sounds like a bad right rear wheel bearing, but I just replaced that one 4 months ago. Shifting the weight to either side makes no difference in how it sounds (but it didn't with my last bearing either). STFA it looks like everyone says a bad CV joint will click over bumps or through turns, but I'm not hearing anything like that. Just a constant roar. Any chance this could be a bad CV joint / axel or did I just get a crappy wheel bearing the last time around? Haven't had a chance to check for grease on the wheel yet (checking tomorrow). Any input is welcome. Thanks!

bad wheel bearing, check your brake calipers/rotors for scoring, check your wheels for debris,
is there any drag on the drivetrain? unusual jerking, resistance, or ?
I am assuming it is coming from the rear of the car- from your description.

I have the same issue with my 99 2.8Q. The roaring sound goes away when banking right. No resistance felt when spun off ground. No play felt in wheel. Did you ever figured out if it was the right rear wheel bearing?
