Default Cylinder 1 and 2 won't spark please help!

I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. It was about -5 out and I went to start my car for the second time on the day, but this time it wouldn't start. The fuel pump kicks on and everything else was normal besides it wouldn't spark. I hooked up my car to vag-com on my computer, via usb.
Address 01: Engine
Controller: 4B0 906 018 Q
Component: 1.8L R4/5VT G 0008
Coding: 07251
Shop #: WSC 03122
4 Faults Found:
16839 - EVAP System: Large Leak Detected
P0455 - 35-00 - -
16684 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P0300 - 35-00 - Please Register/Activate
16685 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P0301 - 35-00 - Please Register/Activate
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-00 - -

I know that 16684 is P0300 Random Misfire Detected - Any Cylinder B
16685 P0301 Cylinder #1 - Misfire Detected A or B / Blink
16686 P0302 Cylinder #2 - Misfire Detected A or B / Blink

I put in new spark plugs a year and half ago. I'm not getting any other codes besides for my EVAP leak. I put a link to the fault codes.
Please Help! Thank you!

http://www.audittcca.com/faq/971942474?pp=1</a

Default ignition control module or coilpacks...

switch your coilpacks around.. rescan the car. if the misfire switches to a different cylinder then it's your coilpack.. if it still stays there it is probably your ignition control module

When my cyl 2 would fire, it turned out to be the wire that plugs into the coilpack.

Default Re: ignition control module or coilpacks...

1st of all thank you for your replies.
It won't screw up anything switching ignition coils? do you know if it's cheap to buy a calibrated ignition system tester or if any auto parts stores have them or lend them out? In my Haynes manual you connect it to the spark plug boot to test if there's enough spark is getting to the plug or at all. do you think that would be safer then just say moving ignition coil on cylinder 1 to cylinder 4?
(IamAwesome)-Do you mean ignition coil assembly and not ignition control module?
thanks guys! keep them coming PLEASE!

Default Got It!!

I took off the the two ignition modules and pulled out the plugs. Well, the plugs where covered in carbon and the plugs where toasted. The plugs I told my mechanic to get where Bosch triple platinums. well, he put in autolite platinum. my friend that's a mechanic came over and said that's what's wrong. after he tested if there was enough spark going to the plug through the ignition modules. the two plugs for the two cylinders i got fault codes had tones of "oil" like substance and carbon. plus some other things he said i can't remember what it was, but basically the spark plug was fried.
Does that sound right? any takes on it?

Default Glad to see you got it. :) Swapping coil packs shouldn't cause any

issues, at least on a 1999.5. I had to swap my coil packs when I was going through a similar issue. My problem stayed with the same cylinder when I swapped coil packs and/or spark plugs. It turned out to be the ICM on my 99.5 A4 1.8T.

Default Didn't someone on here before have a Autolite plug that self destructed on them and it went in and

through the system destroying everything? (turbo, valves and stuff).....long long long time ago.

Then he did a full motor rebuild in the parklot of his school or something.

Default HELP! NOW IT WON'T START.

I changed the plugs and I'm getting a good spark from the ignition control modules on each cylinder. I'm thinking I have to reset the ECM. Anybody know how to do that? The ECM probably isn't allowing the cylinders to work.
