Default Dead Central Locking.....

Ok,heres my problem.... Audi A4 1996. 2 of the wires going into the drivers door have bared and touched each other. One is a red/blue, the other Yellow/Blue. This has caused my central locking to stop working altogether, also the courtesy light doesnt come on automatically anymore when a door is opened, but it can be switched on manually.I have checked a friends car( same), Red/Blue is always 12v, Yellow/Blue is sometimes 12v,sometimes 0v,depending on locked status.I have checked and rechecked fuses but all seem fines to me.Have also swapped pumps with another car but still the same.Any help greatly appreciated. Oh, and it is non-remote c/l. Many thanks

Default ok......if i do this it works,,,

if i put 12v directly to the red/blue wire,it all works fine. im guessing there is a wire broken/burnt out somewhere.

Default Sounds about right.

You may want to simply run another wire, rather than track that one.
