dealer pinpointed suspension squeak to bent support... a little help?
they say it must have been caused by running over a curb, a large object, or something of that nature... but i would remember something like that happening to my car...
it has 12000 miles, is a 1999.5 1.8tqms, and i am VERY aware of what i "run over" and nobody else drives my car, except the dealer after service...
am i stuck with the bill like they say? or is there some way to prove i didnt run over anything?
thanks...

they're trying to screw you. Insist you never ran over anything, and take it up with AOA afterwards.

That's B.S.!! (more)
I had the same problem with my front suspension. I had been complaining about a squeaking sound coming from the suspension for nearly 10k miles until finally, during my 20k service interval, the dealership admitted that AoA sent a Technical Update saying that any A4 owners complaining about this problem can have the suspension or defective parts of the suspension replaced under warranty. I'm not exactly sure what is being replaced but the lead service tech said that it the part is back ordered. The good news is that other A4 owners are starting to receive their parts so hopefully it won't take too long. Is this the control arm problem everyone has been complaining about? Anyway, let your service department know about this. Don't let them screw you!! Best of luck!!
