Default Dented Hood

My brother has a 1996 A4 and recently got the hood dented I was going to see if I could pound some of it back into shape from underneath (we don't care about the paint at this point) I noticed the hood seems to be doubled layered with a piece of sheet metal that the fire retardant stuff is attached to. Anyone know if I can take off that bottom layer to have access to the top shell? Thanks.

Default If it is in the front I would doubt you can get it out

You can take off the sound deading material, I don't have it but I'm guessing it is just a couple of clips.

Its right on the front edge of the hood I dont think you could use one in this situation. Could you?
