Did anyone ever have the dealer tell them that a K&N voided replacing their MAF?

Depends on the type of filter...
If it's just a K&N panel filter than it's not really any different from the stock unit. An oiled paper filter is a different issue. Over-oiling the paper will result in the MAF being fouled with oil. This causes the MAF to fail.
That's a direct case of a modification leading to a failure and the dealership is well within their rights to void warranty replacement on the MAF. Note that the rest of the warranty is still intact, per Moss-Magnusson. IE the non-OEM part leads to a failure of a part that is normally covered under warranty, therefore that particular part is no longer under the manufacturer's warranty.

But the K&N actually IS an oiled filter, which needs to be reoiled every so often........
sometimes people over-oil them, which can cause the MAF to fail....
So the answer is yes, a K&N could cause the MAF to fail, and a hard-*** dealership would have a leg to stand on in voiding the warranty.
