I have access to GIAC/APR/Dahlback/MTM/Revo within a reasonable drive. I was originally going to get the GIAC X-chip for my '01 but I can get a Dahlback for about the same price with free upgrades for life. I do plan on upgrading slowly but surely over time (replace w/ a K04 when my K03 sport dies), but not immediately. I haven't been able to find much out there in terms of Dahlback performance on '01 cars (or any cars for that matter) and was wondering about stock peformance GIAC vs Dahlback and K04/exhaust/fmic/injector performance GIAC vs Dahlback. Any suggestions (on where to find numerical figures) or feedback? TIA

If you plan on going k04 in the future I would get Dahlback since they actually have 01 specific k04 software for a fmic/injectors/exhaust. Giac's 01 k04 software makes about the same TQ as the X-chip so it is not worth it. Dahlback has free upgrades while with Giac you have to pay 200 to upgrade to k04 software.

Essentially if you can get both for the same price and they are both local to you, just go with Dahlback. It is important to have a dealer close to you so that you can troubleshoot any problems that arise.

very few people on these forums have their software, but those who do says it pulls harder than giac or apr...

i have an x-chip, wish i went dahlback. maybe later.

k04 setup from giac on an 01 is ****, wont give u any power at all. in fact, some people claim the X-chip works better with that setup (tuned w/lemmiwinks). last person i talked to w/an 01 and giac k04 software made 170hp at the wheels. (he calculated that to be about the same as the X-chip)
