Differences between 99 and 98?

Differences between 99 and 98?
Are there any differences between a 99 (pre-facelift) and a 98? I ask because when I am ordering parts for my 99, I am never sure if they are for the pre or post facelife models. I was thinking I could just buy parts for a 98 from now on and be safe...

Not much.
Just from the top of my head, the larger passenger mirror was added in 99, along with hood insulation.
Though in 98.5 the tailights changed to the all red ones. Early 98 had the orange turn signal.

the all red tails switched the blinker + reverse in 99.5 right?
I do nearly the same as him, I always choose 2000 A4, since the pre 99.5's have quite some differences, guess it's just better safe than sorry...

depends on if you are talking early 99 or late 99
These would be if it is a late 99 or 99.5
side markers larger and clear
door handles are rounded not flush and flat
windshild washers are not on the hood anymore
tail lights
center console-w/double din radio
projector headlights
fog lights moved to bumper, instead of integrated to the headlight
I think the 170Hp 1.8 was avail, someone correct me
side mirror on passenger side is same size as drivers, 98 had a smaller mirror
can't think of any more right now...

well, depends if you're talkign 98.5 or not.
98.5 and 99 are identical. 98 is different from 99 which is different from 99.5. search the archives, there's TONS of info on the diffs.
