Digital thermometer

Does anyone know where the temperature sensor is for the in-dash thermometer? The other day when I was driving in CT, it was freezing rain out. There was ice in the trees and on the road, but the thermometer was reading 35 F. I was wondering if the heat radiating from the car was having an effect on the temperature sensor. I was driving about 45mph on backroads.

Hi,<p>I think the sensor is just behind the grill, close to the bumper. Just because there is ice above 32 does not mean your thermo is totally inaccurate. I think water can be frozen above 32. Just depends on local air pressure. And the freezing rain. Maybe it was colder up in the clouds. <p>Then again, maybe the thermo is off. ;-)

Actually ...

my recollection from previous postings is that the sensor is aimed at the road so it can warn of imminent icing, so it may not always correspond exactly with ambient air temp.<p>YMMV.<br>
