Mine's a 2000 A4 2.8Q with 222K miles. Noticed both my xenon headlights are aiming toward the ground. This was after my bumper fell off (long story). I manually adjusted them with the screws and this worked for a while. Now they're aimed back toward the ground again. The auto-aim linkage looks intact. Lights do NOT flicker, but work great except for the aim. I can reach inside the headlight and wiggle the adjusters up and down. Any ideas?

If you've maxed out the height adjusters and you can freely move the inner reflectors up and down with your finger, I have a feeling you snapped the plastic adjustment bolt from it's mounting inside the headlight. I ended up breaking one as I rotated the adjuster one turn too much and POP. The reflector was free floating in the headlight. I had to break the adjuster apart in order to repair the internal damage I did with JB weld. I'm hoping it's just the auto system resetting but from what you describe, I have a bad feeling. The manual adjustment screws still work fine. Could it be a failed range control module?
