Dipstick broke in half

Dipstick broke in half
I just purchased an A4.
When I went to check the oil level the stick was about 12 inches long and no level lines on the stick.
I assume that half the stick could still be in the oil tube.
Is it easy to get at the tube to take it off and replace it or fish the old stick out?

Are you sure the remainder of it is still in there? I suppose you could verify this by very carefully sliding a new dipstick into the tube. I would make a mark on the new stick where the broken one ends so you could carefully probe to that depth and see if you can feel any resistance being especially careful not to push the broken one down any further.
I would first contact the seller and ask whether they know if there is a broken oil dipstick in the tube. Now that you have paid for the car they should be willing to confess.
