Do you recommend spray on detailer's wax in between waxes? If so, what kind?

Default I like Meguiar's quick detailer. It's actually not a wax ...

Rather than a spray-on wax, the Meguiar's is a lubricant and cleaner that allows you to wipe off dust and light dirt between washings without stripping the wax or scratching the paint. I only use it if the car has been recently washed and is covered by no more than dirt settled from the air. For anything heavier, I rewash the car. The spray is also good after a wash if I later discover spots or streaks from incomplete drying or water that's escaped from hidden crevices. Finally, I keep a bottle in the trunk in case a bird takes aim at the car. This way, I can clean the finish ASAP, before it gets etched.

Default Lately, I have been using the QD rather than washing....

It has not rained for months here in Dallas, so there is not really any need to wash the car when the only thing getting it dirty is brake dust and airborn particles. I gave the car a good washing last week and have been going over the car with the quick detailer every three days or so since then. It takes about 15-20 minutes to go over the whole car, whereas my typical wash session takes about 2 hours. I'm going to have to wash the wheels about once a week to keep them somewhat clean, but that should not take long. I have not noticed any scratching and the car stays looking much cleaner than with weekly/bi-weekly washing, and with less effort (and wasted water). I need to find someplace that sells the gallon jugs of this stuff to get a better price. BTW, I wonder if the QD could be cut with a little distilled water to make it go a little further?
