Default does anyone have experience (good or bad) with AUTOMOTIVES in Kansas City?....

I'm thinking of having them do my APR chip install. They quoted me a price of $400 installed. is this a fair price? it's a 99.5 1.8TQMS. Thanks

Default ? I didn't know they did 'chip installs'. I bought a set of rims/tires from them

In addition, I'm not sure I understand why you can't put the chip in yourself. It's really easy, 15 mins. max.

Default Do they do chips in house now?

Or do they send the ECU to APR. I am thinking of getting this done as well.

Default yeah they do chips in house now......Joe said they've done about 100 installs....

Joe said that he's going to the APR headquarters and will be installing chips again starting in mid Feb. 400 installed and they'll do any warranty servicing if ever needed.

Thanks. 100 installs, I didn't realize there were that many 1.8T's in KC and surrounding areas.

Default Ryno,

what exactly are you talking about? Automotives doing the actual soldering/replacing of the chip, or merely installing a chipped ecu?
