Does the chip REALLY add 40+ hp for the 2000+ 1.8t!? (long)
Ok, I'm not an expert on chipping, so I was at By Design in L.A. and this guy said that they don't "chip" Audi's but they have a guy that flies out from Germany every 6 weeks to "reprogram" Audi ECUs, and he says reprogramming adds "only 20- 30 hp if you have the intake and exhaust that is..." So I told him about all your chipped rides, and this guy said, " 40+ hp on a chip alone?! That's B.S., ask them (you guys) to show dyno chart..." and I just kinda said ok and left...
So, is this dude a schmuck or what? Reprogram + intake + exhaust getting only 20-30+ hp sounds nothing like what I've been reading here... what do yall think?

No...+50 hp and +90 lb-ft of torque(APR that is)! If you don't belive it, come see me...
No really, the power is there and it's awesome. Find someone with a chipped A4 near you and get a ride. People with APR EMCS can probably demonstrate both stock and chipped back to back. I can!

Power at the Flywheel or Power at the Tires? . . .(more)
Compare apples to apples....
The flywheel hp number always makes things seem inflated. Make sure you are talking about the same hp w/ the guy.
The factor is 1.15X bigger for flywheel versus at the tires.

Yes it does here is proof....
I raced a a4 2.8 stock... and i was neck to neck with him.. i also have a tiptronic which makes me have around 100~150 more pounds.. (but he probably had tip also...)

Ok, who lives in L.A., chipped, and wants to give me a demonstration?
I totally think that dude at By Design was talking out of his ***, but before I take my ride to Velocity and chip with GIAC, I would like to actually feel the extra hp of the chipped A4s... anyone?
