Driving to florida

OK, so I am off this weekend from Connecicut down to Captiva, Florida with my boy Jeff. So far, my last post stated that I should expect my car to break, die, fail, and basically blow up underneath me because I have not done timing belt and shes got 83K. Well, besides that I am off to replace tires today and top fluids tonight. My questions are as follows:

What is the best time to leave? This is a weekend trip, and can leave as of Friday evening...

What is the best time to speed? States+Times please...

try to avoid the wilson bridge project area in dc/md/va

detectors are illegal in va but people drive around 70+ anyways. go with the flow

vacation?

Captiva is a great place. I've stayed at Sanibel @5 times for vacations - and make day trips to Captiva.
Check out "The Bubble Room" for lunch one day...very unique (depending on your sons age)
