While I search the archives, does anyone have any feedback what this is.

It's a 2001 1.8t with 82K miles, Timing belt has never been replaced.

hrm, have you noticed any engine knock? any harsh vibrations?

Default Yeah, it's my friends and there is alot of engine knock,sounds like timing slipped and valves hit
Doesn't sound good, get those timing belts changed early!

Default possible, but I would think if the timing was off on one bank, that it
would be off on both? Maybe have him take it to a shop, see if they can find out what's up.
