egr valve
You need to test the whole system first. Using vag com run an output diagnostic test and see if the pump comes on.. If it doesn't then check the fuse.. huge one by the ECM. If hte fuse is ok.. take the line off the pump and water will proably come out if so then need a pump...
If pump runs you need to test if its still broken.. take off the outlet of the pump and put your hand on it. run test again and see if air comes out of hte sides... If so then you can replace it or drill out the rivets and put in long bolts.
If the pump runs, the housing is not leaking.. continue output test to chck solenoid for kombi valve.. If its clicking. then pull off the valve line and see if you can blow into it.. it should let you blow.. then not.. etc etc.. if it does thenits working.. check line ot kombi valve to make sure it its not cracked.
If the solenoid works and the pump works, and the vac line is ok. Check the Kombi valve itself.. Put a vacum hand pump on it.. If it doesn't hold vacum its bad.
If it does hold vacum.. put your hand on top of the valve.. and release the vacum you should feel the valve snap closed.
If you do not it may be jammed open or closed.. Take valve off and test again.. If it doesn't operate replace the valve..
