Eibach Pro vs. H&R Sport vs. H&R Race for A4
I have a 2000 A4 1.8T Quattro with factory sport suspension. I'm trying to get new springs for my car, but don't know which one to choose. I have three questions:
1. Would the Eibach Pro or the H&R Sport make a noticeable visible difference in the height of the car since the factory sports sus. already drops the car by 3/4" ? And if not, would the H&R Race lower my car to a noticeable level?
2. Can I used all three of the spring with factory sports sus. setting (Meaning, no new coilovers, shocks, etc. Just new springs) ?
3. How would the ride quality be compared to the factory sport sus.? (Increase in performance would be no doubt; however, I'm also interested in the new ride quality.)
Thank you very much for the help. I really need some feedback from experienced experts.

hmm i'll try my best..(my drop via coilovers)
1) yes lowering springs (even from a sport suspension standpoint) will be noticeable.
2) Yes you can just put in new springs. Is it recommended. No! why? because you are already in there and you'll have to replace the shocks anyways. Do it now and save the hassle. Also you are going to be increasing the spring force on the shock.
3) It will be stiffer (dependant on the springs). I run coilovers, stiffer, tighter, and oh so much more fun. Your car will be a little jarring over "pronounced" bumps. for the most part; nothing that isn't bearable. Umm if you use the search function.. this is all answered. Oh well.
before.. non sport

Youve done well, let me just add on and put in some input.
One of the first thigns i noticed is that your ride height. Well, if you want to be pretty low, go with H&R race, but you must get shocks very soon or else you will blow your stockies, if you just want a minimal drop with stiffer suspension, go with h&r sport. But id say getting shocks is highly recomneded. Or you can go with coilovers and youll most likely be happy either way. You can get H&R coilvers for 1200-1300 i think. Tomasz@startupracing.com is a suspension nut, hes got a apr stage 3 s4 which is amazing, and a r32. He is almost always found in the pacific nw forum (where im from)or in the suspension forum. He highly recomends Vogtland coilovers, which he sells for around 1000. But also highly recomends a rear sway bar because there is still a bit of understeer even with the coilovers. And speaking of Vogtland, they have a nice set of springs which drops basically right inbetween the sport springs and race springs. Everybody here who has them loves htem. They are usually combined with koni shocks. Mike Kim at purems will help you out on that one. But if you are interested at all in vogtland coilovers just tell me and ill get you in touch with tomasz. If you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask me.

oh i'll add in for coilovers (tein). They are by no means the best...
however a cost effective.. quality product. I paid 850$ for mine and really have been impressed. I've had them for 2000 miles and they are extremely responsive, yet not bone jarring. ecodetuning.com sells them (ask for david)

Re: hmm i'll try my best..(my drop via coilovers)
if you are driving the car everyday, I would not recommend H&R Race especially on stock shocks its gonna be bouncy as ****. I recently purchased H&R + Bilstein shock combo now I cant comment on them yet as they have not arrived but I have heard good things about this setup. If you want adjustables you can get that too for about 50 bucks extra at ecstuning.com cheers

I used to have eibach pro-kits and hated them...
they lowered my car much more than advertised which caused major rubbing and scraping on just about anything in the road. they were also really spongy and not a firm spring at all from what i experienced.
i have seen others with the same set up as i had and it wasnt as low so maybe i just got a bad set or something but i hated them with a passion. also had them on my previous car and swapped them out pretty quick as i didnt like them on that car either.
