I just recently installed my APR 1.0 Bar Chip Stage 1 in my '99 A4 1.8tqm. The purchased the stock and 91 octane programs. The problem i am having is that you are supposed to hold the cruise control button for 5 seconds (and then the CE light starts blinking) in order to change programs. When i do that, my CE light does not blink. I can't put my car out of stock mode. HELP

i supposedly dont have two programs, and my CE light doesnt blink, but i can clearly get in and out
of stock and chipped mode by counting. i count 15 seconds to get into the second mode and 10 seconds to get into the first mode. try it out.

you have pre-DBW, yes?
In that case, you have a toggle button running from your ECU. Press once for slot 1, twice for slot 2, etc. I was as confused as you are for a while. APR ought to be clearer in their instructions.

i am confused nothing came with my chip, it was just my receipt and a piece of paper telling me i have stock a 91 octane programs. I have tried changing programs with my CC but the CE light will not blink and even without it blinking, can tell i am still in stock mode

the non -dbw ecu's are modded to have an external rca jack...
did you buy the chip used? you need to talk to the person you bought it from. if his ecu did not have an external jack you have the wrong chip.
